Riding In Cars With Boys is a wonderful film that explores the struggles of a young woman who finds herself pregnant and married at the age of 16. Although it seems so tragic, this is something that happens every day in America. However, the film makes it seem much more dramatic and praises those who take on this difficult challenge.

The lead role in the film is played by the talented and beautiful Drew Barrymore. Barrymore takes on the role wonderfully and is entertaining and faithful throughout. She is the perfect actress for this movie and Penny Marshall knew it. Steve Zahn is the guy who gets her pregnant and they get married. Zahn is good at it, but he’s kind of predictable as the “stupid” guy who gets into drugs and alcohol. Zahn seems to play that role too well in too many movies. Brittany Murphy is fabulous as Barrymore’s best friend in the movie. She really excels in the movie and is there every step of the way with her friend. In fact, she herself has quite a few struggles to overcome.

The entire film is about this young mother’s struggle through life’s trials and tribulations. It is moving and inspiring for girls of all ages. Show how best friends can face the world together and do it gracefully. Show that if you work hard enough, you can do whatever you want. This means that even with children and without a husband, women can be whatever they want to be and do whatever they want to do.
