Internet marketing strategy that involves the use of subdomains

This must be one of the least optimized blog posts that I am publishing as there are simply no relevant searches regarding the use of the subdomain in affiliate marketing. That took me by surprise as I guess most would realize that using a subdomain for affiliate marketing must be another internet marketing strategy or affiliate marketing strategy for people.
First of all, what is a subdomain? The main domain looks like this http://www.maindomain.com and the subdomain looks like this, [http://subdomain.maindomain.com]
What is interesting about the subdomain as an internet marketing strategy or affiliate marketing strategy?
1. It’s free after you’ve signed up for your main domain.
2. It is versatile, as you can change your subdomain whenever you want.
3. If you plan it right, it will look great. For example, you can use your main domain, which is http://www.business.com, to include a subdomain that looks like [http://food.business.com] . Isn’t it cool?
4. Most web servers offer unlimited subdomains hence for a busy affiliate marketer like yourself who has dozens of cool ideas. That will keep the cost low as you can test using subdomains first before getting a main domain for a niche market that is more profitable.
5. The subdomain can also be used to optimize your blog or website for a certain keyword. For example, it is very difficult to group all the keywords you want into one main domain and what you can do is create subdomains to focus on a particular related segment of your market. That way, you can create unique content and articles focused on keywords in the subdomain, which would help to improve the ranking of the main domain. But keep in mind that the content created must be unique or else you risk being seen as spam in the search engine and face “de-indexing”.
When you create a subdomain, you actually create another domain name and search engines recognize it as a separate domain name from your main domain name. So you can create your own mini sites or blogs or do internet marketing or affiliate marketing.
The main advantage that I see in subdomains is the cost advantage. How many times are we loaded with domain names that failed and we have to hack them? By using subdomain names, we can test the market first before getting a domain name if it is profitable.
I hope you have fun with this idea that I have.
