Repair of broken porcelain figures

Porcelain figurines that are saved from previous decades are now highly valued. There are many people who love to collect porcelain figurines and dolls because they find them very artistic and creative. However, time and time again, these figures can be part of an unintended accident and can break into pieces. Sometimes, even if they don’t have an accident, they can show signs of cracking because they are getting older. In these cases, there are a few simple steps you can complete to make the porcelain figurines look like originals.

First of all, you need to determine how big the damage is. If we are talking about a small chip, you can fix the figure yourself, but if it is broken into many pieces, it is highly recommended to send it to an expert. However, it is your own decision and if you think you can handle it, then give it a try! Start by collecting all the pieces that belong to the figurine. Even the smallest pieces will help you, so never throw them away. Then you need to find a place that has a lot of light and you may also need a magnifying glass if it is a small figure. Buy polymer glue or epoxy glue at your local store if you are dealing with chipped pieces, or if you need to fill in holes or missing pieces, you can use porcelain enamel or bondo. After purchasing these products, all you need to do is put glue on the chipped pieces and hold them in their original positions for a minute, or if it’s holes, apply porcelain enamel or bondo to the holes and let them dry. overnight.

If you think that the figurine has suffered serious damage, it is best to take it to the expert. If you try to repair it yourself, you could end up damaging it even more, and more damage is the bare minimum the figure needs at this point.
